This is a very rare beast - this gloriously decorative painted cabinet comes from Qinghai
Original antique Tibetan cabinets are now very rare and there are many reproduction pieces made in China coming onto the market.
This cabinet has a very unusual configuration and is only the second one that we have seen.
The painting is completely original - Qinghai is a large, sparsely populated Chinese province spread across the high-altitude Tibetan Plateau. It's a place of strong Tibetan and Mongol cultural traditions. - dated - 19thC
