Mei Ping Vase Style Blue & White Porcelain with Gourd and trailing leaf design. Porcelain is steeped in centuries of Chinese culture and history. Even though pottery developed in China 15,000 years ago, most experts believe that true porcelain (which also originated in China) did not emerge in the region until the Han Dynasty (202 BC to 220 AD). The currently popular blue and white porcelain is glazed using a transparent porcelain glaze dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) In Feng shui, the wu lou gourd or Chinese gourd is suppose to bring good health. Please note that these are hand made and hand painted in small batches and dimensions may vary with each piece.
