This beautiful table lamp has been converted from a reproduction Chinese porcelain vase and is decorated with phoenixes. This lamp is truly striking and would be an iconic addition to any room.

This lamp has been converted from a vase which was hand-made on the potters wheel in the traditional way. Finished with dark walnut wood it would be suitable for both contemporary & traditional homes. 

This style of Chinese porcelain vase is called Yuhuchunping literally translating as "Pear shaped Vase" and is a style originating in the Tang dynasty (608 - 917) for use as a wine vessel. Later the shape was refined and became a classic vase style also known as a "Trumpet Mouth Vase." The rim is slightly flared with a straight neck that broadens at the ends and a bottom heavy body.
