Cabinets of this type were traditionally used by nomadic families for the storage of \u003cstrong\u003eclothing, bedding and grain\u003c\/strong\u003e, and could also serve as altar cabinets for family ancestor worship.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOriginally, the cabinet would have been accessed through \u003cstrong\u003ehatches in the top\u003c\/strong\u003e. At some point in its history, the front was sympathetically modified with \u003cstrong\u003efour doors\u003c\/strong\u003e, making the cabinet far more practical for modern use while retaining its original character and construction.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe four doors open onto two generous storage compartments, each fitted with a \u003cstrong\u003ewooden shelf\u003c\/strong\u003e. The wonderfully worn surface is particularly attractive, with faded blue-grey and earthy tones across the doors contrasting with the darker frame and top.
