Takhats were originally used as daybeds by the wealthy merchant classes in Rajasthan - particularly the Shekavati area. They are usually made from roheda wood (a variety of Acacia). This is not an antique, however it is made from reclaimed wood which is salvaged from old buildings in Rajasthan and Gujarat. It is decorative, extremely durable and environmentally friendly.
