Military chests were originally used by officers of the British Indian Army. They were used to carry the officers clothes and personal possessions while on tour. They were usually made from Teak, rosewood or jackfruit wood and the corners are bound with brass or iron. Our pieces are mostly from the 19th and early 20th century. This chest would make a great coffee table
